What schools are considered ‘at risk’?

Our school selection process uses data from the U.S. Census Bureau and the National Center for Education Statistics. These considered child poverty rate, the teacher-to-student ratio, per-pupil spending, the share of adults with a college education, and the high school graduation rate to determine the school district where students are least likely to succeed. While school shootings do not discriminate, we believe these indicators are a good foundation to offer extra protection against the possibility of mass casualty events.

How does the ERL help in a school shooting incident?

The Emergency Response Locker contains powerful tools that give first responders and law enforcement everything they need to get in and save lives. The Jersey Claw allows the easy breaching of locked, heavy doors often encountered during lockdowns, allowing law enforcement access to the building to neutralize threats. Additionally, the locker contains emergency medical response equipment, providing quick and vital first-aid to those who may need it even before EMTs arrive.

Doesn’t SWAT have their own breaching tool?

Yes, but from Nick and John’s personal experience as SWAT team leaders, the current equipment needed several improvements to make them more effective. That’s why they invented the Jersey Claw- A lightweight breaching tool that replaces over 20 tools used by SWAT responders. Many criminal justice equipment providers did not want to market a tool that made their other tools obsolete, so Nick and John founded Jersey Tactical to sell the claw directly to where it is needed most.

Shouldn’t the police already have what they need?

Without on-hand equipment such as the Jersey Claw, police often need specialized service providers to perform a breach. In emergency situations, officers have to wait for these specialists to arrive. Jersey Tactical helps officers avoid wasting precious moments by equipping them with everything they need to perform a breach the moment it is necessary.
